The history of our Church
North Side Baptist Church began in 1954 in the north part of Abilene. Around 1960 the little congregation bought the property that it currently sets on today. In November of 1965 Dr. Don Greenway and his family moved to Abilene to become the pastor of North Side Baptist Church. Dr. Greenway has pastored the Church for over 58 years...which is one of the longest service in Texas. Over 20 years ago Rev. Kevin Greenway became the Co-Pastor. Together they serve as one of the longest tenure as a father and son team in the state. The Church has gone through 5 building programs during these years. We have seen many people called into the ministry through the years and today several serve throughout America as Preachers, or serving on staff at Churches, and some serve as Missionaries. We are proud of our Churches History.
